Tindersticks blijft een bijzondere band. Melancholie, bij voorkeur spaarzame instrumentatie, sfeerbeelden opgetekend met klanken en dat alles omzoomd met de markante stem van Stuart Staples. No Treasure But Hope is een mooi album. Eentje om in te lijsten. Gemaakt met een andere werkwijze: veel directer opgenomen én met de mens in meerdere opzichten centraal als thema. Anders dan The Waiting Room. Anders ook dan het album daarvoor, The Something Rain, dat dateerde alweer van vier jaar daarvoor. Tegelijkertijd nadrukkelijk Tindersticks.
