Stel je eens voor dat de toekomst ergens in de jaren tachtig vastloopt, en het hemelrijke sterrenstelsel ons op een oorverdovende vuurwerk oerknal met positief gestemde lichtexplosies trakteert. Hoe klinkt die soundtrack van deze optimistische zekerheid, waarbij het nostalgische verlangen het nieuwe Nu vormt. Waarschijnlijk niet direct als Fantasy, maar ik kan met dit imaginerend beeld prima leven. Fantasy is het therapeutisch terugkijken met verspringende dansvloer neontegels die tot bovenaan de top van het universum reiken. Ver voorbij de shoegazer mistflarden maar wel nog binnen ons waarnemend vermogen. Anthony Gonzalez schenkt ons een verzachtend helend klankenpallet. M83 verpakt rusteloos gejaagdheid in mediterende ontspanningsoefeningen. Onthaasten na het haasten. Nu Daft Punk...
