Langs knipperende bijna dovende neonlichten, slapende zwervers en de verse geur van drank, seks & drugs en de misselijkmakende gevolgen hiervan. Aidan Moffat loopt haastig door, kijkt niet achterom. I don't give a fuck about the past our glory days gone by. Natuurlijk baalt hij hier gruwelijk van, en dat hoor je overduidelijk in The Turning of Our Bones terug. De poëtische nachtburgemeester heeft nog steeds die ondraaglijke pijn, en de romantische hunkering naar de zelfkant van het leven.
