De overactieve workaholic van de uit Vancouver afkomstige Dan Bejar is alweer een tijdje afgesloten. Zijn creatieve vermogen verspreidt hij nu over acts als Swan Lake, Hello, Blue Roses, The New Pornographers en zijn geesteskindje Destroyer. Ondertussen bouwt hij verder aan een aardige platenkast met releases waar hij aan meewerkt al doet de artiest het de laatste jaren heel wat rustiger aan. Kwaliteit staat nog steeds ver boven kwantiteit verheven, en met Have Me Met benadrukt hij nogmaals dat zijn aandacht ondertussen naar het veredelde soloproject Destroyer uitgaat. Op Kaputt laat hij zich al duidelijk door sfeervolle in zichzelf gekeerde white soul uit the eighties beïnvloeden, terwijl Poison Season juist...
