Voor mij is de psychedelische Tattva single van Kula Shaker de waardige opvolger van de gehypte Madchester erfenis waartoe The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays en The Charlatans behoren. Hier is iets boeiends gaande, en K blijkt een van de leukste debuutalbums uit de jaren negentig te zijn. Vreemd genoeg sluit deze mix van Faces riffs, The Beatles orkestratie en geest verruimende Grateful Dead jams perfect op de heersende ravende dancecultuur aan. Britpop was alweer op zijn retour, en Kula Shaker plaatst zich als nieuwe grote belofte op de voorgrond. Echter verzuimen ze om op opvolger Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts dit succes te continueren.
