Ze sluiten dus toch niet af met dat fraaie album vol schone bluescovers van 2016. De legendarische The Rolling Stones halen integendeel uit met iets waar weinigen ze nog voor in staat hielden. In plaats van tot een rusthuisact van heel ouwe knarren te verstenen, brengen ze hier anno 2023 op eigentijdse manier nieuwe, opwindende rock-'n-roll uit die deze keer veel meer opvolging verdient dan enkel beleefd beluisterd en daarna geklasseerd te worden. In die zin is Hackney Diamonds dan ook een ongelooflijke plaat. Ze serveert een knallende The Rolling Stones, in volle overtuiging, en, behoudens die enkele ballads, voluit op speed.
