De duistere op waarheid beruste Britse serie Peaky Blinders speelt zich in de vorige eeuw af. Keihard wordt het wel en wee van de iconische zigeunerfamilie Shelby gevolgd, die zich tussen de twee wereldoorlogen vanuit het ondergrondse riool van de maatschappij tot de hogere sociale klasse opwerkt. Verrassend genoeg wordt er hierbij niet voor een muzikale omlijsting uit deze periode gekozen, maar is er zorgvuldig naar hedendaagse artiesten gezocht die aan de opnames de juiste dynamiek toevoegen. Ondersteund door de geschikte belichting krijgen de confronterende scenes nog meer diepgang. De muziek is van zo’n hoogstaand niveau dat zij met gemak los van Peaky Blinders te beluisteren is, al grijpt deze...
