Wat een prachtig muzikaal gezelschap is Nickel Creek toch. Balancerend tussen folk, bluegrass, akoestische pop, country en rock en met drie perfect op elkaar aansluitende stemmen en virtuoos spel is het één van de meest vooraanstaande bands die de afgelopen decennia uit Amerika het muzieklandschap binnenkwam. Chris Thile (mandoline) en Sara (viool) en haar broer Sean Watkins (gitaar) waren vanaf het eerste begin een opvallende verschijning met songs die veel verder gingen dan de traditionele folk en bluegrass muzikanten voorheen gingen. Bluegrass koningin Alison Krauss zag en hoorde hen, was zwaar onder de indruk, en nam ze ter hand zodat hun derde album, nadat ze twee albums in eigen beheer...
