Een heel verrassend album kan Get On Board, het samenwerkingsalbum van muzieklegendes Taj Mahal en Ry Cooder zeker genoemd worden. Vooral als je beseft dat dit inderdaad een remake is van het legendarische Get On Board album van blues legenden Sonny Terry en Brownie McGhee uit 1952. Tegelijkertijd weet je dat juist deze twee muzikanten als geen ander een nieuwe fascinerende twist aan dat legendarische album kunnen gaan geven. Bijna vergeten dat Ry Cooder en Taj Mahal in de jaren zestig samen in The Rising Sons speelden. Dat was dus voordat ze beiden op eigen kracht hun magnifieke eigen carrières van de grond kregen.
