In de voorbije jaren zijn er tal van jazz interpretaties van pop- en rockliedjes gemaakt. Zelden is het zo goed gelukt als in het geval van Jazz Sabbath. Het Britse trio presenteert jazzversies van Black Sabbath nummers uit hun beginperiode en doet dat op sublieme wijze. Dat de Britten over de nodige humor beschikken blijkt wel uit de mockumentary waarin ze “uitleggen” dat ze de nummers eind jaren zestig hebben geschreven. Volgens hun fictieve biografie nam Jazz Sabbath in 1969 twee albums op, maar konden die door omstandigheden niet uitbrengen.
