Elles Bailey ontsnapte evenmin als haar collega muzikanten in het Verenigd Koninkrijk aan de gevolgen van de pandemie. Na de snelle opgang met de tweede langspeler Road I Call Home moest de zangeres met het hese stemtimbre het tourleven inleveren voor een echte thuis. Tijdens die langdurige podiumloze periode zocht ze haar toevlucht tot livestreams, gestripte coverversies van haar blues- en andere muzikale helden werden gebundeld op Ain’t Nothing But. De planning in mei 2020 voor nieuwe opnamesessies in Nashville, waar de voorgaande langspelers werden opgenomen, werden noodgedwongen uitgesteld.
