Bij The Jayhawks denken we spntaan aan de vocale wisselwerking tussen zangers Gary Louris en Marc Olson, het duo levert met bassist Marc Perlman na het titelloze debuut uit ’86, The Bunkhouse  Tapes (heruitgebracht als Blue Earth) aan. Het is de voorbode van  het lichtjes fantastische Hollywood Town Hall dat in 1992 de doorbraak betekende voor de countryrock band uit Minneapolis en een plaats op de grote festivalpodia, we herinneren ons nog levendig de passage op Pinkpop in ’93. Twee jaar later lijkt het muzikale sprookje over.  Na Tomorrow The Green Grass vertrekt Olson om samen met zijn vrouw Victoria Williams te musiceren. Gary Louris gaat verder met Marc Perlman...
