De muzikale carrière van Josh Tillman als Father John Misty mag gerust één van de meest interessante van het afgelopen decennium worden genoemd. De durf en kracht waarmee hij zich als zanger en songschrijver ontwikkelde is imposant. Ook zijn zesde album Mahashmashana is weer een weldaad voor het oor. Na het fantastische Chloë and the Next 20th Century uit 2022, een fraai georkestreerd album dat moeiteloos onze jaarlijst haalde, maakte hij voor deze zomer even pas op de plaats met de eigenzinnig samengestelde verzamelaar die hij Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl doopte.
