De festivaloptredens van Arctic Monkeys gaven nog niet veel prijs van het verwachte zevende album. De singles die de band na de zomer uitbracht lieten echter overduidelijk horen dat de koerswijziging die te horen was op Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino geen eenmalige zijsprong was. Wie Alex Turner en zijn medebandleden de afgelopen jaren heeft gevolgd zal daar niet door zijn verrast. There Better Be a Mirrorball opent The Car. De glitterbol dook al op bij het optreden van Arctic Monkeys op Lowlands.
