Twee jaar geleden vond BJ Barham ver weg van het hectische muzikantenbestaan in de geborgenheid van het familieleven de ruimte om  zijn reflecties over zijn omgeving in  songwerk te verwerken dat samen met zijn kompanen van American Aquarium  uitgewerkt en in een voortreffelijke songcyclus gebundeld werd op Lamentations. Ondertussen werd nog het tweedelige coverproject Stappers, Bangers & Certified Twangers gevuld met de interpretaties van NJ en kompanen van country uit de jaren negentig uitgebracht en Daytrotter Sessions uitgebracht. Chicamacomico refereert naar een reddingpost, in 1874 gebouwd op Outer Banks in Noord Carolina, de thuisstaat van American Aquarium. De opnamesessies vonden plaats op Texaanse grond in het studiocomplex  The Sonic Ranch...
