Kun je je The Waterboys voorstellen zonder het magische vioolgeluid van Steve Wickham? De drie laatste albums lieten de begaafde violist sporadisch nog wel horen, maar eerder dit jaar kwam het bericht dat zijn magie niet meer op de bĂĽhne te horen zou zijn. Andere prioriteiten zijn er voor hem zoals zijn band uit Sligo, No Crows. Laat je de laatste albums de revue nog eens passeren, dan kun je je ook voorstellen dat de manier waarop het geluid van de band zich ontwikkelde, minder en minder ruimte liet voor zijn fantastische spel.
