Hoe zou het nog met eels zijn? Hoe zou het beroepstreurwilg Mark Everett, a.k.a. E voor z'n vrienden, over wiens verdriet en neuroses we nu zowat alles wel weten, in corona zijn vergaan? Hewel verrassend, we krijgen hier een nieuw album dat het eels-geluid monter en fris de speakers uitstuwt. Met naast enkele uitstekende eels-ballades vooral zeer aantrekkelijke kale rock of vuile blues. Zijn meest springerige werk kortom sinds heugenis. Vrijwel de hele plaat lijkt dolle fun. 'Men zegt' dat de rock-and-roller in E toevallig Souljacker-nostalgie kreeg, hij zijn vriendje John Parish heropzocht, met wie hij in 2001 die plaat inblikte en een even bruisende plaat, Extreme Witchcraft zag in...
