Er zijn muziekstromingen waarbij het samenstellen van een verzamelaar altijd het allergrootste feest is. Alles wat onder de Philly Soul vlag valt is dat zonder enige twijfel. En elke nieuwe verzamelaar, zoals nu Philly Soul (The Ultimate Collection), geeft je weer eens een heerlijke mogelijkheid diep in soul van Philadelphia te duiken. Een beetje dom is het natuurlijk wel om een enkele plaat met 15 tracks dan The Ultimate Collection te noemen. De door platenlabel Harmless in 2012 uitgebrachte 10 CD’s tellende box set was absoluut de ultieme Philly Soul box set. Met een prachtig boekwerk erbij al helemaal.
