Rory Gallagher behoeft geen introductie. Wie zich ook maar enigszins verdiept in de blues, weet dat de Ierse gitarist zich de blues eigen had gemaakt en zeer nadrukkelijk zijn stempel op de blues wist te drukken. Tot op de dag van vandaag, blijft hij een voorbeeld, al is hij al geruime tijd niet meer onder ons. Zijn muzikale nalatenschap is in goede handen, zo weten we van de uitgaven van Check Shirt Wizzard en Blues. En dat blijkt ook het geval bij deze prachtige heruitgave van het solodebuut van Rory, gewoonweg Rory Gallagher, genoemd. Het geluid is in deze nieuwe mix fenomenaal te noemen, beter ook dan de al niet misselijke versie...
