Moeten we nu echt bij elke nieuwe Guided By Voices plaat stilstaan? Jazeker, zolang de over productieve Robert Pollard en zijn manschappen goede lo-fi eigen beheer albums uitbrengen, blijf ik dat doen. Popmuzikanten hebben gewoon een dagelijkse baan, tenminste zo ziet meneer Pollard dat. Je gaat naar het werk, neemt een liedje op, en gaat eind van de dag weer naar huis. En toch ervaar ik bij La La Land een beetje inspiratie armoede. Na het meer dan voortreffelijke Earth Man Blues, It's Not Them. It Couldn't Be Them.
